About the 2009 Gala
The ninth consecutive Annual Gala of the Brookline High School 21st Century Fund took place on October 23 and 24, 2009. Many parents, alumni, members of the vibrant Brookline community, and other supporters of the Fund, joined the 21st Century Fund to celebrate the 21st Century Fund’s continued commitment to excellence.
We celebrated the journeys of six extraordinary individuals as we paid tribute to our 2009 Distinguished Honorees:
Jeff Adrien ’04 — Captain of the NCAA Final-Four UCONN Huskies, Role Model, BHS Alumnus;
Ellen Goodman ’55-’57 — Pulitzer-Prize Winning Columnist, Author, BHS Attendee, Brookline Resident;
John Hodgman Jr. ’89 — Humorist, Author, Actor, PC Impersonator in Mac® ads, BHS Alumnus;
Stacy Kissel — Brookline High School Physics Teacher, Textbook Author, Physics Daredevil;
Norman Levenson ’61 — Real Estate Developer, Philanthropist, BHS Alumnus and Parent; and
Albert Maysles ’44 — World-Renowned Documentary Filmmaker (Grey Gardens, Gimme Shelter), BHS Alumnus.

Studio 21 Forum Friday, October 23, 2009, 6-7:30pm
The Gala honorees participated in an informal panel discussion in the BHS Auditorium moderated by Headmaster Bob Weintraub. Designed for BHS students and the Brookline community, these amazing people spoke about their personal and professional journeys and answered audience questions.
Private Reception with Gala Honorees Friday, October 23, 2009, 7:30-9pm

The Gala honorees attended an elegant cocktail party immediately following the Forum at Brookline High School. This was a unique opportunity to meet and chat with our extraordinary honorees in an intimate setting.
Annual Gala Celebration Saturday, October 24, 2009, 6pm-midnight
The Big Event! The BHS Schluntz Gym was magically transformed into an elegant ballroom. The evening began with a lively cocktail party and silent auction. The dinner program included an exciting live auction, a brief presentation about the Fund’s programs, and then concluded by paying tribute to the six Gala Honorees. Dancing and dessert followed.

Note: Sponsorship packages must be purchased by August 3 in order for sponsor names to appear on the mailed invitation (distributed to 5,000+ people). All Sponsorship packages and single tickets must be paid in full prior to October 19.
Tribute Book Advertising
The Tribute Book is a coffee-table quality program book distributed to all Gala sponsors and attendees, and ads placed in the Tribute Book will reach more than 500 key Brookline and Boston area community leaders. This is an effective way to promote your business by while supporting a worthy cause.
Faculty: Full page ad, 4.5” wide x 7.5” tall, $1,000
Scholar: Half-page ad, 4.5” wide x 3.5” tall, $500
Graduate: Quarter page ad, 2” wide x 3.5” tall, $250
Student: Business Card ad, 4.5” wide x 1.25” tall, $100
Classmate: Listing name listing only on contributors page, $50
